Why choose Antalya

Antalya has the widest choice of any Turkish resort area. Lara and Kundu are lined with large beachfront resorts, Belek is known for golf and quiet pine forest, Side combines beaches with Roman ruins, Kemer sits beneath the Taurus mountains and Alanya adds a castle and a lively seafront.

It is also the easiest place in Turkiye to fly to from the UK: Antalya airport has the most flights all year, and most hotels are between about 20 minutes and 90 minutes from it.

Things to do

Wander the old town of Kaleici and its harbour, visit the Duden waterfalls, take a boat trip or a day in the Taurus mountains, or explore the Roman theatre and temple at Side. Many hotels also run kids' clubs, water slides and evening entertainment, so families can stay put and still have plenty to do.

When to go

The beach season runs from late April to October, with the hottest weather in July and August. May, June, September and October are popular for warm sunshine and quieter resorts. Winters are mild but not beach weather.

Getting there

Flights from UK airports take about four hours to Antalya. Transfers to the hotels run from roughly 20 minutes to Lara and 40 minutes to Belek, to about 90 minutes to Alanya.
