The Best Time to Visit Turkey for UK Holidaymakers

14 October 2026

Peak summer: July and August

These are the hottest and busiest months, with long, dry days and warm seas. They suit families who need school-holiday dates, and hotels offer the full range of activities and entertainment. Book early for the widest choice.

Shoulder seasons: May, June, September and October

Many UK visitors like these months best. The sea is warm in early autumn, the sun is strong but not scorching and resorts are less crowded. Prices are often better than in July and August.

Spring and late autumn

April and November can be pleasant, with sightseeing weather around Ephesus, Antalya's old town and ancient sites. The sea is cooler, and some resort facilities have shorter hours, so check hotel details before you go.

Winter

Winters are mild on the coast but not beach weather. Fewer flights run from the UK to some airports, so Antalya has the most choice. It is a quieter time for city breaks and good-value stays.
